Kristina Dousharm, AIA, NCARB, Principal
Kristina Dousharm is the principal of KDA. Prior to founding the firm, Kristina garnered a wide range of architectural experience in New York City and the Hudson Valley, including renovations on historic townhomes, residential projects throughout rural upstate New York, academic facilities planning and the development of the master plan for a 615-acre community for adults with developmental disabilities.
Kristina holds a certification from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). She is a licensed architect in New York and Pennsylvania.
Ferol Barton Blake, Fdesign, Creative Director
Ferol Barton Blake, founder of Fdesign, has been working with Kristina Dousharm Architecture since the firm's beginning. Ferol's ability to understand a client's programmatic needs coupled with his ability to resolve architectural and design issues in a strategic manner is integral to KDA's process. Together, they collaborate as KDA + FD
In his career, Ferol has led a broad range of projects including design for noted New York City retailers and restaurants as well as residential projects throughout the greater New York City area. Ferol also has a successful line of furniture under the Fdesign brand.
Josh Payne, AIA, Project Architect
Josh Payne honed his architectural skills in the Boston area, before returning to his native Hudson Valley and joining KDA in 2015. Josh's prior work included passive solar design, bio-tech, education and institutional commissions, as well as a variety of residential and commercial projects. Josh is highly engaged in all aspects of KDA's collaborative process. He brings a critical eye and an acute attention to detail to every project.
Josh is also a member of the American Institute of Architects, and a licensed architect in New York.
K. Casey Shea, Design Associate
With a multidisciplinary background, Casey Shea started her career as a Coordination and Graphic Design Intern for the United Nations Umoja Project. Before joining KDA in 2016, Casey also managed Social Media and Visual Communications for several political campaigns. To date, she has accrued more than two years of architectural experience with KDA. Casey's skills in design, photography, and technology, as well as her passion for art and travel, drive the creativity and ambition that she brings to her work at KDA.
Zachary T. Hall, Architectural Associate
Zachary T. Hall obtained his Associates of Architectural Technology from Dutchess Community College, and has over ten years of architectural experience working in the Hudson Valley. As the newest addition to KDA, he has already become an integral member of the team, bringing a comprehensive architectural skillset into KDA’s collaborative process.
